The Michigan Proteome Visualization Tool (MI-PVT) is designed for systematic visualization of the proteins in different human chromosomes in databases and appropriate datasets. The initial application of MI-PVT uses the Human Proteome Map data on 30 normal tissues and cell types from Kim et al (2014). The two major search options (i) Chromosome-based search and (ii) Tissue-based search are demonstrated in separate web-pages. To search proteins with different expression levels across tissues/chromosomes, MI-PTV has option to select HPM-based different Expression levels based on spectral counts (less than 1 = no expression; 1-3 = low-expressed; 3-12 = medium expressed; >12 = highly expressed). The bins can be adjusted to make tertiles or quartiles of the users choice. MI-PVT also shows a search option based on neXtProt (09-19-2014 release) for the five Protein Existence (PE) Levels: 1=Evidence at protein level, 2=Evidence at transcript level without protein evidence, 3=Inferred from homology, 4=Predicted, and 5=Dubious or Uncertain.
